The Red Sox dropped to 2-6 in September.
The normally potent Red Sox offence is MIA. Boston's regular sparkplug, Dustin Pedroia, finished the night 0-for-5 and struck-out 3 times! Pedroia went 1-for-20 in the series!!

On a more positive note, the Detroit Tigers have baseball's best record over the past 4 weeks. Detroit is 20-7 after consecutive sweeps of the White Sox and Indians. The Tigers are rapidly closing-in on baseball's elite - they trail the Red Sox by 4 1/2 games and are, now, 1/2 game ahead of the Texas Rangers.
